Jenn Fairhurst wants her Married in Malibu wedding cakes to be legendary. Her job baking sweet treats at the Southern California wedding venue means everything to her―even if she’s not sure that she’ll ever be able to love, or trust a man, again after going through a terrible divorce.

Daniel Brooker is an award-winning photojournalist who gave up his globetrotting career to become a wedding photographer after his wife passed away, leaving him as the sole parent to his son and daughter. After such a tragic loss, he never thought he’d be able to love again. Until he met Jenn.

Soon, Daniel is falling head over heels for Jenn and wants to show her what true love really is. But right when it looks like she might finally be ready to give love another try, her past comes back to haunt her. Will she be able to risk her heart again?

Lucy Kevin is the “sweet” pen-name of New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Bella Andre (who writes the #1 bestselling series about The Sullivans). Lucy Kevin books are fun, flirty and romantic―without the steamy scenes.

just-my-thoughts

I love Bella’s Lucy Kevin books they are so sweet, don’t get me wrong I love her Sullivan hotness as well, but sometimes it is just good to sit back and read a sweet romance.

Jenn is the best baker they know and she makes beautiful wedding cake for married in Malibu. She has also been hurt by love and even though she is attracted to the photographer Daniel she can’t seem to let her heart go there. Her ex really did a number on her when she found him sleeping with another woman in their bed.

Daniel fell in love with  Jenn at first sight, when he lost his wife to a car accident he didn’t think he would ever find love again, but he did. Even though is was afraid to put it out there because they worked together he didn’t want to cause any problems there.

Little did they know the whole staff knew of their feelings for each other and worked together to set things up for them to spend more time together. No one ever admitted to doing it but when you are reading it you can tell the boss Liz is playing match-maker, at least that is what it seems like to me.

When Jenn is starting to think she might be able to give love another try her ex comes back into the picture. He is spouting off all kinds of nonsense. She figured out during their talk that he just wants her for her connections to the celebrities she works with. She is trying to get away and be done with it but he is not letting her go and Daniel steps in and makes things worse.

When he goes to apologize to her he ends up telling her he is in love with her, and that he will wait for her. She heads home and finds her ex waiting for her. He is still spouting off nonsense and she finally gets through to him. Still weary of giving her heart away because she is afraid that it will not work the second time either, but Daniel is so sweet and lets her have time to figure everything out.

They have a huge photo shoot and they work hard together, and when she realizes that something is missing on one of her cakes, Liz gets her to take a break and have some coffee. When they are sitting there having coffee her friend Tamra made a comment and it helped Jenn decided what the last cake needed and would show Daniel how much she loved him at the same time.

He was so proud of the steps they had takes and so in love with Jenn. He was glad they finally gave everything a go.

Who will be next. I can’t wait to see what is in store next. If you love sweet romance reads this is the book for you. Go grab your copy today.
