ER nurse Lindsey Helm used to be strong. Then a late-night attack at the hospital nearly killed her and left two close colleagues dead. Now Lindsey has retreated from the world. She knows she needs to move on, but every hint of danger seems threatening—including a certain sexy fly boy who’s determined to show Lindsey what she’s missing. But falling for F-18 pilot Maverick Armstrong is a risk she can’t afford…

Maverick knows that fear can eat away at the soul, and he won’t leave Lindsey to that fate. She needs someone to reach her and to remind her of the exhilaration and unbelievable passion of being touched. He’ll help her heal, and then he’ll walk away. He has to walk away. Because Maverick swore he would never fall in love and never marry. But this is a rescue operation, and Maverick will stay the course—even if things get hazardous. Even if saving Lindsey means surrendering his heart in the process…

Wow, this book had a lot going for it. You learn so much more about Maverick in this book, and he is truly a really great guy. Yes, he is fighting the attraction to Lindsey, but he really wants to help her because he has been there and he can relate somewhat to what she is going through after the attack.

Lindsey fights against what she is feeling for Maverick, but he is too stubborn to let her keep him away for long. He helps her heal after her traumatic experience at her job. He doesn’t know it but his uncle is helping him grow closer to her, though he keeps telling himself that he is just helping her.

They heat up the bedroom too after they decided to stop fighting the attraction, but still think that this will end very soon. They don’t realize the power of love and what it can do to people.

He gets her to help him plan his fundraiser and he takes her on all of these adventures to bring her back to life. And slowly he is making progress. She is still a little scared and doesn’t really liked to be touched but Maverick touch does not bother her, she seeks it out when they are out.

When it is time to say goodbye, Maverick treats her to a very romantic date, they have not said it but they both know this is their last night together. She is heartbroken and he doesn’t feel much better, but this is what he feels is best. When they make love that night it is totally different from any other time. It was like they were each trying to leave a piece of their soul with the other.

Now here is where I am going to stop and let you figure out what else happens. But, I will say there is a very attractive  doctor that loves to flirt and  is trying with all of his might to get a date with Lindsey. Does he succeed? Read and find out. Does Maverick come to his senses and get her back before it’s too late? Those are questions you will have answered when you read.

Now for the Epilogue: Caution this will leave you dying until Feb. 7, 2017 when the next book comes out because it is about one of the other brothers Nick. It will have your heart beating and you screaming no, no, no, I should not have read that. That is what I am feeling right now, along with going crazy on wondering what is going on with Ace and why he is acting the way he is. Uncle Sherman gave some hints to it in this book, but all it does is wets your appetite on what in the hell happened.

This is turning out to be a very awesome series and looking forward to the rest of it. Thank you Melody Anne for writing such an amazing series….AGAIN.

Thank you for reading my review.

Until Next Time: Happy Reading.
