Sweet Reunion

A Hope Falls Novel, Book 1

By: Melanie Shawn

For Amanda Jacobs, dealing with the pain of losing her beloved Dad is the toughest thing she’s ever gone through, and it comes with a lot of complications, as well – like taking over the family business, Mountain Ridge Outdoor Adventures. It makes her miss the simplicity of being a teenager, when she was surrounded by her amazing friends, The Fabulous Four, and she was madly in love with her Dad’s right hand man, Justin Barnes. His sexy smiles and deep brown eyes had made her heart race in a way she’s never felt before or since. When the Fabulous Four unexpectedly show up on her doorstep to support her through this complicated time, things seem to be looking up for Amanda. But that’s not the only surprise visit in store for her…

Justin Barnes left Hope Falls ten years ago, in the dead of night, and didn’t think he’d ever set foot there again. That was just fine with him, except for one little complication: Amanda Jacobs. He had fallen in love with her unruly blonde curls and sparkling sapphire eyes, but she had been a teenager then, five years younger than he – too young for him to act on his attraction. Still, he’d missed her every single day of those ten years. When Justin receives a phone call that his former mentor has passed away, he knows he has to return to Hope Falls. Justin just has one question – will the girl that once adored him have grown into a woman that can’t stand him? Or will she still be the only thing in the world that feels like home?

Man this was an awesome book. If you have not read this book I suggest you go and get a copy today, it is very well worth the read.

Amanda fell in love with Justin when she was just a kid, even though he was five years older than her he fell just as hard for her. But, he could not act on those feelings because of their age. He needed to wait a little while longer. Well, Amanda had other plans. When she turned seventeen she went down to the bunk house where Justin lived and made a pass at him, told him exactly how she felt. He told her they could not do that. She was so upset that she ran out of the bunkhouse in just her bra with her shirt clasped to her chest crying.

When she got up the next morning she went to talk to him but he was gone. The only thing she found was a not to forget about him. What she didn’t know was that her father told him to leave, he thought she sent her father down to tell him that, and she just thought he didn’t feel the same and left. After he left she was so depressed her father was on the verge of taking her to the hospital to get her some help, she was not eating or sleeping, and all she did for weeks was cry. She was truly broken. It was not just a teenage crush it was the real thing.

Ten years went by and she tried to move on but he was always in her thoughts. Then something happened to Amanda that shattered her world again, her dad passed away. He was her life, and she really didn’t know how she was going to move on. Everyone she had ever loved had left her. The day of the reading of the will, her then boyfriend was ready to get the show on the road, he was excited to hear what all she would be getting. (Shady right…yep). Her godfather and her family’s lawyer told him that he didn’t know what he was all gong ho over since he didn’t have anything to do with the will, but they could not stat until all of the people were there.

Her friends had already come back to be with her because when they heard that none of the other’s would be able to be there for her they all on their own came home. It was just what they did. While they were talking to the lawyer she asked him who else they were waiting on that is when Justin came in and said I guess that would be me. She was in a state of shock. She could not believe he was back and he brought back all of her feelings with him.

They worked though the reading of the will which her dad gave her eighty percent of the family business and left the other twenty to Justin. He could not believe that he was left part of the business, he figured that was not right and asked when the will was drawn up. Henry (the lawyer) told him five years ago after he gave up trying to find him.

Amanda’s boyfriend didn’t like that he wanted her to sell the business and she told him that she would never sell. He kept on trying though, but without success. Justin and Amanda talked and they each found out why he left, and what must have happened. The day after Justin left she told her dad what she had done and he spent the next five years trying to find Justin. They figured that her dad must have thought that Justin tried to force himself on her and he was disgusted to think that her dad thought that, but he told him it was only for a day.

They continued to grow closer together, she was waiting on him to up and leave again and he was determined to stay and fight for her. After all of these years they still had strong feelings for each other and he was not going to lose her again, especially after he found out that her dad was looking for him to possibly make things right between them.

Her best friends decided to stay in town too. They had things going on that they needed to reset in their lives and they felt like home was the place to do it. Amanda was ecstatic that she had her best friends and Justin back in her life.

What happens next? Do Amanda and Justin make it? Or does something happen to make Justin run again? That is for you to find out when you read the book. Go get your copy today.
