Former overachiever Lucy WillIams sucks at adulting.

Recent divorce, check.

Pending lawsuit, check.

A move back to Boston to live with her mother, triple check.

It can’t get much worse, right?

When she starts her new marketing job at EXtreme Effects, she’s positive shit’s stopped hitting the fan. Sure, what she’s advertising is a little … unorthodox, but it pays the bills. And since she’s seconds away from becoming Lucy Williams: Wednesday Night Bingo Enthusiast, she needs money to get the hell out of her mother’s house.

The only problem is her boss, Mr. Extreme himself: Jace Exley. He’s everything any sane woman dreams of—alpha, successful, ridiculously gorgeous. He’s also Lucy’s worst nightmare. Because like every overachiever, she has that underachiever she brushed off. The slacker who, once upon a time ago, was the object of her dirtiest schoolgirl fantasies.

Jace Exley—with his sarcastic smirk and delicious accent—just happens to be that guy.

And the friction between them?

Well, that’s the only adulting Lucy seems to be winning at.

thoughts

First of all I was given an ARC in return for an honest review and here it is.

This was an awesome book. Poor Lucy had to move back home after she found out that her husband was cheating on her with his partner…Shane. Yea, you read that right.

So when she tries to get another job as a marketing manager her ex has fixed it to where no one will hire her. She left her first great job to work for her husband and got her to sign a two-year contract, because he knew she was the only reason they were staying afloat. (At least that is what i figured out when reading this book.) She leaves even with threats to being sued. She was done.

She found a job on Craigslist and tried to do some research on the company but couldn’t find much. She was desperate for a job and decided to go and check it out. When she went to go in for the interview she never expected to see the one guy who made her high school years a living hell and whom she had a secret crush on all during said school years, but that is exactly who it was and he was even more hot than he was in school.

Jace could not believe his eyes when he looked up and saw who was standing in his office looking for a job. He had wanted to get between her legs all during school but she was so goodie-goodie that he never tried. So he just aggravated the hell out of her. She was looking even better now than she was in high school, and he wanted her even more after seeing her again. That alone should be the reason to tell her she will not be getting the job, but he couldn’t do that. He would at least check her references to see what they have to say.

He was so impressed with the first company she worked for and pissed off at her ex for all of the stuff he said about her and with him saying all of that he decided to hire her.

They fought their attraction for a while, he even told her he wanted her but wouldn’t have her, talk about a deflate to an ego. But, eventually they gave in and decided it was going to be  a one time thing. (Yep, who can say that, but you know it won’t only be one time after all of the years you have wanted to be with that person), but they decided to make it a casual thing. They had sex all the time after that.

Then Lucy went and done something very, very stupid and got herself fired and removed from Jace’s life.

That is where i am going to stop with my review. I want you to find out what it was that happened and how did it get resolved. This book is very well worth the read.

Thanks for taking the time out of your day to read my review.

Until Next Time: Happy Reading
